FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2018 - Day 7


Congratulations to Molly Belsito for being selected to attend the MIAA Annual Indoor T & F Recognition Breakfast on Monday, February 12, 2018.  This breakfast will recognize and celebrate student athletes who have shown success both on and off the field.  Molly is representing our school indoor track program and all CMC League indoor track athletes.  Congrats Molly!  We are proud of you!

Communications Class Monday Block 1a will meet immediately in the Theater for the last session of Sr Projects.

Robotics Club:  The robotics club will meet Wednesday, February 14th at 2:30 pm in room 36.  All students are welcomed.  Please see Mrs. Gabriel if you have any questions.


GPS International Night:  A group of students who participate in the GPS Program are preparing special projects for Thursday, Feb. 15.  Their projects will be on display in the NDA library between 6:00 pm and 6:45 pm (before the concert).  We are inviting the school community (students, parents, and faculty) to view these projects and to talk with the students about their projects before the concert begins. In addition, two students who participate in the GPS Program will perform a special dance during the concert.  

Semi Formal:  There will be a meeting next Monday at 7:40 in room 14 for sophomore and freshman student council and class officers to discuss the semi formal.

Marine Life Awareness Club:  We will be meeting on Monday, February 12th at 2:35 pm in the Bio Lab.  The topic is "More Fascinating Facts About Whales!"   All are welcome to attend.


Spring Sports:  All those interested in playing softball, tennis, spring track, golf, or lacrosse can now sign-up in the gym.


Guidance News: 

The Southborough Gardener's Scholarship is open to students who have been residents of Southborough for at least two years and are accepted at a school of higher education in one of the following fields: Floral Design, Landscape Design, Horticulture, Environmental Studies, Ecology, Conservation, Agriculture or any other related field.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  The deadline for submission is Monday, April 16, 2018.


Two scholarships are open to Shrewsbury residents who will be graduating from high school this school year.  One is from Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations (and New England Sports Network (SELCO/NESN). The second is from the Town of Shrewsbury. The application and specific details are available in the Guidance Office. The deadline date for the Town of Shrewsbury scholarship is due no later than 4:00 p.m.on March 8, 2018 and the SELCO/NESN is due on March 9, 2018.


The Wachusett Area Chamber of Commerce is offering three scholarships for graduating seniors who reside in the Wachusett area.  To be eligible, students must be pursuing business studies in a two-year or four-year college. The scholarship application along with details are available in the Guidance Office.  The deadline date is April 30, 2018.


Please be aware that there are scholarship opportunities listed on town websites where students reside.  It is beneficial for seniors to research those websites.
