Mission of the Notre Dame Academy Athletic Department

The Notre Dame Academy Athletic Department strives to provide an atmosphere for students to learn life-long skills of teamwork, dedication, self-discipline and above all, sportsmanship. We believe that interscholastic athletic participation contributes significantly to preparing our students for becoming productive, contributing citizens of our community and society. A comprehensive program of athletic activities expresses our commitment to ensure the development of physical fitness and personal health, the acquisition of competent performances, and the achievement of excellence in the student's chosen sport. Wins are achieved by developing successful athletes and teams, but more importantly, wins are achieved through the educational experience by developing successful and responsible students, leaders, and community members.

The "Rebels" represent an athletic program that exemplifies superior sportsmanship and team work. It offers opportunities for participation at every level including varsity, sub varsity and middle school teams. The Academy has an unmatched coaching staff and a quality athletic complex complete with three fields, a newly renovated gymnasium, and strength & conditioning center.

The Winter Athletics season will begin on begins on November 5th for the following sports:

- Basketball
- Indoor Track
- Ice Hockey

To register for Winter athletics, the NDA Athletic Department will use an online registration system called Family ID. This is a new platform which will be used to track participants and the required registration materials. Please be sure to have an up-to-date physical (current within 13 months) in preparation for this.
Registration for Winter Sports will open on November 5th.

Upcoming Dates & Clinics

1) November 5th: Family ID Registration opens for student-athletes trying out for a winter sport. In order to register, an up-to-date physical (within 13 months) and the completion certificate from the NFHS Concussion Course (valid for one year) must be uploaded to this portal. Student-athletes are not allowed to participate on November 29th if this registration is not completed. Please let me know if you have any questions on this. The deadline to register is Wednesday, November 17th.

2) November 8th: Ice Hockey Candidates Meeting. Any interested 9-12th grader should report to Horgan Rink in Auburn to meet the coach for an informational meeting that begins at 6:30pm.

3) November 17th: Deadline to register for a winter sport on Family ID. 

4) November 18th:  Mandatory "Meet the Coach Night" for winter student-athletes and families participating in basketball and indoor track.

  • This presentation begins at 6pm in NDA's auditorium. There is a 45 minute presentation to review rules and expectations for all student-athletes, which will be followed by break out sessions for student-athletes and families to meet with their respective coach. 

5) November 29th: First day of the winter season. Tryout schedule will be posted on the website the week of. Tryout schedule will be communicated at Meet the Coach Night on 11/18.
