Head of School

Linda D. Anderson, M.Ed.
With warmth and enthusiasm, Notre Dame Academy welcomes Linda D. Anderson, M.Ed., as Head of School. A dynamic and mission-driven leader, Ms. Anderson brings a deep commitment to Catholic education, academic excellence, and the empowerment of young women, building upon the strong foundation established by Dr. Marilyn Tencza ’71.
Ms. Anderson most recently served as an Academic Coach at Athol High School and previously led St. Bernard’s High School as Principal from 2019 to 2024. During her tenure, she guided the Bernardian community through a comprehensive and transformative renewal rooted in Catholic identity, educational innovation, and a deep commitment to student belonging. Her leadership led to meaningful enrollment growth, a strengthened and more rigorous academic program, and improved student outcomes—all while cultivating a vibrant, mission-centered school culture.
She began her career in the classroom, teaching English Language Arts, Latin, philosophy, and psychology. Her approach reflects a thoughtful balance of classical tradition, interdisciplinary exploration, and student-centered learning grounded in research-based practices. As Principal, she oversaw all aspects of school life—academic, operational, financial, and spiritual—and worked closely with the Board of Trustees and the Diocese of Worcester to establish St. Bernard’s as an independent Catholic high school. She also led the community with clarity and resilience through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, strengthening the school’s long-term sustainability.
A lifelong learner and recognized leader, Ms. Anderson holds a Master’s degree in Human Development and Learning from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Her work in education has been recognized with Teacher of the Year honors, two National Honor Society Excellence in Character Awards, and selection to the Worcester Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.”
Reflecting on her role, Ms. Anderson shares:
“As a product of both Catholic and all-women’s education, I have experienced firsthand how these traditions shape both the intellect and the spirit. They prepare young women for lives of leadership, scholarship, and service. I am honored to serve the NDA community and to help carry forward the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur with purpose and care.”
A Worcester-area native, Ms. Anderson attended Trinity Catholic Academy in Southbridge and is a graduate of St. Peter-Marian High School. She now resides in Westminster with her family, including her two children, Grace and Teddy.
Her appointment comes at a meaningful moment in Notre Dame Academy’s history. As NDA celebrates its 75th anniversary, Ms. Anderson’s leadership reflects both a deep respect for the Academy’s traditions and a clear vision for its future—grounded in faith and committed to forming young women of intellect, purpose, and impact.
