Head of School's Welcome
A Message from Lisa Mancini '88, P'18
Notre Dame Academy Head of School
Welcome to Notre Dame Academy,
It is my great honor and privilege to serve as the Head of School of Notre Dame Academy (NDA). This special place has been an integral part of my life since I became a proud graduate ‘88, and watched my sister ‘92 and my daughter in ‘18 follow in the tradition.
The NDA culture, charisma and traditions, deeply rooted in the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur (SNDdeN), have existed for decades and are surely the foundations of the school. Students and families, including my own, choose a NDA education for an exceptional academic experience that is authentic, relevant and forward-thinking; for a commitment to character development that is embedded in all aspects of student life; for strong higher education outcomes; and because students are intentionally prepared for success, poised to make a difference in our world.
During the decades since my NDA graduation, the school has grown in tremendous and lasting ways, with a student body, faculty, and programs never stronger. Our vision for NDA as a unique leader in the education of young women is driven by our strategic plan, developed to ensure the Academy thrives and that students continue to excel. Already the execution of the plan is underway and we have realized significant enhancements to NDA including; the successful opening of the St. Julie Division 7th and 8th grade classes; a new dual-enrollment program with Assumption College; growth of the new Learning Commons; a Makerspace; a dance studio; a renewed focus on technology; additional A.P. classes added; and extensive renovations to the athletic center. With a newly announced tuition program aimed at making the experience accessible to more families, NDA is not just a middle and high school, but a unique six-year holistic experience.
The mission of Notre Dame emphasizes the importance of providing transformational experiences to girls of all faiths so that our graduates continue to be lifelong learners, spiritual seekers, and compassionate global citizens. We are continually inspired and driven by the words of SNDdeN foundress St. Julie Billiart, “Teach them what they need to know for life”.
I am excited to work alongside our talented and dedicated and mission-driven faculty and administration who are fueling the continued transformation of NDA as they inspire our students to reach their full potential every day. I am appreciative of the continued support of our graduates and parents, demonstrating their overwhelming dedication to our NDA community that will allow us to develop young girls into the leaders this world need for years to come.
I invite you to get involved; our gates are open and our arms ready to welcome all who want to help us on this journey forward.
