Notre Dame Academy is honored to have with us today Mrs. Suzanne McTigue Magaziner.
Suzanne is a graduate of Notre Dame Academy’s Class of 1970. She received her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College in 1974, graduating Phi Beta Kappa as President of the Student Body. In 1978, Suzanne earned her law degree from Harvard Law School and her MBA from Harvard Business School. She was the second women to be accepted into the joint program. Suzanne also holds an A.M. degree in American History from Brown University. She has worked as a law associate, a business strategy consultant, and a teacher. In 1979, Suzanne was the co-founder of an international business strategy and public policy consulting firm. From 2001 t0 2006, she was a teaching assistant in the department of history at Brown University. Throughout the years, Suzanne has been involved in many civic and political organizations. She has been a trustee of Notre Dame Academy and in 1994 was the recipient of the prestigious Knollwood Award given to a graduate who clearly reflects the spirit of Notre Dame Academy.

In a letter to Sr. Ann Morrison, Suzanne wrote “I feel it is essential to work to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to make a good life for oneself, no matter what the circumstances of one’s birth. In becoming involved in various efforts over the years, I have been guided by the messages of social justice and love in action that I learned back in the dark ages when I was a student at NDA from 1966 to 1970. As such, I am a product of the sixties activism and the good Sisters of Notre Dame – a formidable combination!
