AP Tests
Advanced Placement Tests are offered in May on specific dates set by the AP Program. These tests are three hours in length with multiple choice and essay components and are graded on a 1-5 scale, with 5 being high. Some colleges offer students college credit or advanced standing based on their performance on these tests.
Advanced Placement Tests are recommended only to students who have demonstrated strong achievement in the most advanced levels of a subject or who have taken courses that have specifically included the Advanced Placement curriculum.
Notre Dame administers between seventy-five and one hundred Advanced Placement test to its students each year. Students may take AP exams in English lierature, french language, Spanish language, art history, calculus, United States history, psychology, music theory, chemistry, and submit art portfolios for AP credit and recognition.
