Spend a Day Program
The Academy's Shadow Program is designed to give potential students the opportunity to spend an academic day at the Academy and to meet students and faculty. The program is open to 8th grade students but transfer students are also encouraged to visit. Students presently in the 8th or 9th grade shadow members of our Freshman class.
Student visits start in mid-October with the majority of students visiting before Christmas vacation.
We limit visits to four students per day. Parents should call the Admissions Office at 508-757-6200, ext. 229 to make visit appointments. Guests are encouraged to arrive at the Academy by 7:45 am. This gives the Admission Department a chance to meet and greet guests and their parents, explain the registration sheet each student is asked to fill out during the morning of her visit, and introduce the guest to her hostess. Parents may also pick up application materials at this time.
In order to make each guest as comfortable as possible we try to pair her up with a hostess with similar interests. Sometimes a guest will request a particular student. A guest may want to shadow someone from her hometown or school. Sometimes a student wishes to see a particular subject area or a sport or other co-curricular activities.
Many students sign up to visit the Academy at our Open House.
