Rosanne has been a student council advisor, a cooperating teacher for pre-practicum and practicum students from area colleges, and as a member of the Global Education Alliance workshop at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, helped to write the social studies curriculum for the Worcester Public Schools.  She has used her educational expertise to develop programs for Preservation Worcester, Old Sturbridge Village, and the Worcester Art Museum.

In addition to her career in education, Ms. Matulaitis owned and operated her own delicatessen, bakery and catering service from 1979 to 1983 and from 1984 to 1994 had a successful third career as a realtor for Better Homes and Gardens.  She is also a Worcester County reserve deputy sheriff.
Rosanne is a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society for Women Educators and the Beta Sigma Phi International Women’s Sorority.  She was recently elected to the Worcester State College Multimillion Dollar Campaign Committee.  A life member of the Guild of Our Lady of Providence, Rosanne has also served on the boards of the American Association of University Women, the Quota Club, and the Friday Afternoon Club.  Other memberships include the Massac State College Alumni Association and the Scholarship Tea Committee, the Worcester Educational Association, the Massachusetts Teachers Association, the National Education Association, the Worcester Dance Assembly, and the Boston Waltz Evenings.

A member of Christ the King Parish, Rosanne has served in many capacities on the Parish Council and the Women’s Guild, and taught in the CCD program.  She is a Eucharistic Minister for the elderly, and has volunteered as a choir mother and C.Y.C. parent advisor.  Her volunteer efforts at Notre Dame Academy have included working at the annual phonathons, speaking at Career Awareness Day and serving on her reunion committee.

Rosanne and her husband, Vincent, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary next May.  They have one daughter, Susan Matulaitis Citro who lives with her husband, Jeremy, in Washington, D.C.   Margaret Trainor Sullivan ‘61, describes her classmate Rosanne as “epitomizing the ideals of Christian womanhood that Notre Dame seeks to foster in its students.  For Rosanne, faith is not just an expression of words, it is the foundation of the love, commitment, and service to her family, her Church, and her community that she demonstrates in her daily life”
